We used a variety of paper crafting tools and techniques to make this elegant card, including vellum paper and ink embossing. Don't worry if you're new to any of the techniques, there are links to instructional tutorials in the Ralted Projects and Features sections below. When I designed this card, I didn't stop, I also came up with four other card designs that use the same rubber stamped image. Click here for details and directions for the other cards. |
| Supplies: |
a card blank ( the cover of ours was 4 1/4 X 5 1/2) a piece of blue and white striped patterned scrapbooking
paper 1/4 inch smaller on all sides than the card cove |
| Instructions: |
Step 1. The ornate dreidel stamp we used for these projects
is made by Ruth's
Jewish Rubber Stamps. If you don't have this stamp, you
could use another large design stamp instead. Using silver ink, stamp the dreidel on the
dark blue paper. Cover with silver embossing powder, shake
off the excess and use the embossing heat tool to set the
powder. Click
here for more details in our embossing technique tutorial.
Step 2. Apply a thin coating of spray adhesive to the backs of each piece paper (you can alternatively run the papers through an adhesive machine like the Xyron machine). Step 3. Center the blue and white striped
paper on the card base and glue down. Repeat with the blue
and white dot patterned paper, the light blue paper, and the
dark blue stamped and embossed paper. |
