These three dimensional star ornaments on these packages look so intricate, yet they're easy to make. All you need are some paper scraps and a star template that graduates in size. We used Fiskar's Shape Cutter system, which has just a star template with 6 different sized stars, to make these ornaments, but any template that gives you size options of stars will work. grab a few pop dots for adhesive and you' re ready to go. To give the stars an even more legant look, we layered them onto embossed doilies (also easy to make with a few simple crafting tools).

Instructions:

Make the Embossed Doilies Place doily on a piece of scrap paper, take ink pad and ink entire
surface of the doily. Take care to get good coverage on all areas of
the doily before going on to the next step. Sprinkle an even
coat of embossing powder over doily, tilting and shaking it to get even
coverage. Tap off excess embossing powder. Take a heat tool and
move it over the doily until the powder melts. Let it cool for a
couple of seconds and your embossed doily is ready to be used. Tip: Since the star ornament will be glued to the center of the doily, there's not need to emboss this portion, which will also make adhesion easier.
Make the Star Ornaments: Grab a bunch of paper stars in coordinating colors and different sizes. Place a pop dot foam adhesive circle in the center of the largest star and stick the 2nd largest star to the center of the first, turning it slightly so that the points of the second star are placed between the points of the first star. Continue stacking stars in this manner until you have an ornament the size you like.
(Optional) Make it Fuller: To make an ornament that's even fuller, take 2 stars of the same size for each yer, before moving up a size. To begin take two large stars the same size, put a pop dot in the center of the first and stocks star of the same size on top, turning it slightly so the points of the 2nd star are paced inside the points f the first star. Repeat each layer of sizes this way to get a super full ornament.
Put the Two Together: Glue the finished stacked star ornament onto the center of the bossed doily.
Wrap the Package: Wrap your box in desired gift wrap package. Click here foer detailed box wrapping instructions, if you need them. Take a ribbon and glue it onto the package (I used a hot glue gun for this, but you can use your adhesive of choice). Glue the doily and star to the ribbon as shown in the photo above.
