Author Notes: Greet this year's trick or treaters with a frightfully fun lighted path to your door. Kids can make these fun luminaries with very few supplies and plenty of imagination. Get started today!

NOTE: If you prefer to stay away from candles and flames, check out discount department stores, craft stores and party supply shops for glow lights and other alternate illuminating devices.

Supplies: clean, empty jars
white acrylic paint
black acrylic paint
black permanent marker
tea light candles or other illumination
Instructions: Paint jars with white acrylic paint. Let dry completely then add a second coat. Let dry, preferably overnight. Use a black Sharpie marker to draw on eyes and mouths, then fill in with black acrylic paint. Let dry completely. Add glow lights, tea light candles, votive candles or any other illumination and line them up along your sidewalk for a fun and spooky entrance.
