Review: Altered books are one of the hottest crafts around, and with little wonder - it has so much going for it. Where else can you take a few basic craft supplies, some old discarded books, found objects, photos, ephemera, fiber scraps (and whatever else your imagination can come up with) and turn them into works of art?

There are literally no rules when making altered books, but sometimes having so many options can leave new crafters not knowing how or where to begin. Some are so intimidate, they give up before they begin. With this book as your guide, that will not be a problem. In fact you'll be brimming with so many ideas, you may go Altered Book crazy trying to put them all into practice. No matter, you'll have some amazing works of art when you're finished.

The author divides her immense subject matter into 18 chapters, each illustrating a technique commonly used in making altered books, a project (or page) utilizing technique with detailed instructions, along with several variations of how the author used that technique in other pages or projects. Try all the techniques and you'll be an altered book expert.

I was inspired to buy this book by another title in this publisher's series - Collage Discovery Workshop. Anyone interested in Altered Books would do well to also check out that title as many of the techniques could also be used in Altered Books.

Chapters in Altered Books Workshop Include:
