With parties happening at the drop of a hat and friends and relatives dropping by, it's a good idea to stock up on dip recipes. Why? Because many dips can be quickly thrown together with ingredients already in your pantry or fridge. Paired with some crackers, bread or raw veggies, you can keep a hungry crowd happy for an entire evening. Note: You can make this recipe low fat by substituting low fat sour cream, our fabulous low fat guacamole and baked tortilla chips. |
| Ingredients: |
16 ounce can refried beans 1 cup grated cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese 1/3 cup black ripe olives, sliced, pitted, and drained 1 large tomato, chopped 1 cup sour cream 1 cup guacamole (click for recipe) 1 cup salsa (click for recipe) tortilla chips |
| Instructions: | Using a 10-inch glass pie plate or baking dish, spread the refried beans over the bottom of the dish. Now make a layer for the cheese, followed by the olives, then the tomato, then sour cream, guacamole, and top with salsa. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. |
