| Author Notes: | The Daiquiri, was reportedly one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite drinks. The only problem was, Hemingway was a diabetic. He got around the problem of the drink's mixture of rum, lime juice and sugar by creating the "Hemingway Daiquiri." Hemingway's version of the Daiquiri substituted grapefruit juice for the sugar and added a splash of maraschino liqueur. The latter can be hard to find, so substitute a splash of the more common bar ingredient grenadine for a touch of sweetness instead. |
| Ingredients: |
2 ounces rum 1 ounce lime juice 1 ounce grapefruit juice small splash of maraschino liqueur or or grenadine lime slice for garnish |
| Instructions: | Shake all ingredients together over ice in a cocktail shaker and stain into a stemmed cocktail glass. |
