Every weekend beginning Trains beginning mid November and continuing through just before Christmas, the Fillmore & Western Railway Company runs the Christmas Tree Train.

christmas trees, fillmore and western railroadRiders board the vintage train cars from the 1920s, 30s and 40s in Fillmore, California and journey for about 40 minutes through rolling citrus groves to the Santa Paula Christmas Tree Farm. En route the riders can enjoy a box lunch, be entertained by strolling musicians or perhaps even have a visit with Santa Claus himself.

Upon arrival at the farm, the hunt for the perfect tree begins. Revelers are given saws and sent out to seek and chop down their own tree, which is then encased in mesh and loaded onto the train for the return trip to Fillmore.

Here is a fun activity for families to enjoy together. The train was filled with laughing happy children and proud parents having a wonderful time creating happy holiday memories.
