Is it difficult for you to get back on track after skipping workouts? Getting back on the wagon is very difficult for some. If you are one of those individuals who feels so crummy when you've missed your workouts (and maybe even gained a little weight) that you're thinking about giving up, then these thoughts I have put together are just for you.

First, you have got to regroup and come up with a plan to transition back into your healthy lifestyle. Put things into perspective. In the big picture, your set back was minor. Make exercise a priority again. Schedule your workouts in advance and keep your appointments Don't sit around and analyze what went wrong - just focus on today. Make your plan and get on with it.

If you've let the weight really creep back on and are really feeling out of shape, start back slow. You may not be able to just pick back up where you left off if it has been more than a week or two. Expect your muscles to be a little sore. It's only natural for your muscles to be achy after exercise when you have taken some time off from working out.

Treat yourself well - mentally and physically. Don't bash yourself with negative thoughts. You did not fail because you took some time off. Do something special for yourself. Get a pedicure, manicure, a new hair cut.

Don't fool yourself. You will fall off the wagon again. Life is full of surprises and changes in circumstances that will affect your schedule from time to time. But look on the bright side - Each time you start again gives you the opportunity to celebrate a new beginning, re-evaluate and set new goals.
