Anyone curious about how their body actually works, especially in relation to getting older should read this book. Frequent Oprah guests Drs. Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz have a way of explaining what’s going on in your body in terms that lay people can easily understand. In fact, their playful cartoons illustrating important points about the body and how it typically ages can help to show the body’s functions in a way that everyone can relate to. While the comic book thing doesn’t appeal to me personally, every guy I’ve shown this book to loves it. So ladies, if you’re trying to get your man to develop healthier habits, giving him a copy of this book can prove to be invaluable. The Drs. present information in a logical cause and effect manner that's hard to argue with, then they give you easy practical steps that you can use to improve the odds of your staying healthy, avoiding disease, and maintaining a high quality of life for your entire life. When they don’t know something, because evidence about a particular issue/regime/drug/dietary supplement, etc. is inconclusive, Roizen and Oz always let you know. This “just the facts approach” is augmented by the doctors explaining their personal positions and the advice they typically give to their own patients. All in all, this is a good primer on health and aging and it contains important information that everyone should know. For one thing is clear after reading these pages and other books like Cheryl Forberg’s Positively Ageless, you’re never too young to start an anti aging regime, and you’re never too old to benefit from one. |
