Author Notes:

These elegant gift wraps were easy to do with a glue gun, wide velveteen ribbon, and glitter covered chip board letters (you can either buy them already glittered or use glue and glitter to cover plain chip board letters).

Supplies: wide velveteen ribbon
glitter covered chip board letters
glue gun and gun
wrapping paper and tape
small gold ribbon scraps

optional:
contrasting green ribbon and small gold Christmas ball ornaments (for Madi package)
small pine cone, spray painted gold (for Ann package)
Instructions:

First wrap your box.  Click here for directions, if you need help.

To make the personalized element, position your chip board letters on a wide piece oe velveteen ribbon and hot glue into place.  For Madi's package we dovetail cut both ends of the ribbon; for Ann's we just dovetail cut the bottom edge.

For the Madi package in the photo:
To make the small gold ribbon embellishments on each side of the Madi package, we took about a 2 1/2 inch strip of wide gold ribbon and dovetailed both ends.  We then cut two parallel slits about an inch wide, and pulled each ribbon scrap through so it ended up gathered in the middle.  We then glued a small gold christmas balls over the seam.   Repeat on both sides.  We then folded a green satin ribbon into a loop, with two dovetailed ends hanging below and glued it to the package before gluing the Madi name ribbon in place.

For the Ann package in the photo:
We made the top embellishment by taking two scraps of wide gold ribbons, one slightly longer than the other, and dovetailed all 4 ends. We then cut two parallel slits about an inch wide, stacked the smaller ribbon scrap on top of the longer one, and pulled the ribbon scraps (as one piece) through the slits so they ended up gathered in the middle.  We then glued a small gold pine cone over the seam, before gluing the whole thing onto the wrapped box.
