Author Notes:

We used a variety of paper crafting tools and techniques to make this elegant card, including vellum paper and ink embossing. Don't worry if you're new to any of the techniques, there are links to instructional tutorials in the Ralted Projects and Features sections below.

When I designed this card, I didn't stop, I also came up with four other card designs that use the same rubber stamped image. Click here for details and directions for the other cards.

Supplies: a card blank ( the cover of ours was 4 1/4 X 5 1/2)

a piece of blue and white striped patterned scrapbooking paper the same size as the cover of your card
adhesive (we used a spray adhesive)
a piece of vellum paper the same size as the cover of your card
large dreidel stamp (see 1. below)
"Happy Hanukah" lettering stamp (ours is part of a "celebration" set of clear stamps by Anna Griffin designs and All Night Media)
blue rubber stamp ink
blue embossing powder
embossing heat tool
4 small blue brads (we used those by EK Success)

Instructions:

dradel_card2.jpg1. The ornate dreidel stamp we used for these projects is made by Ruth's Jewish Rubber Stamps. If you don't have this stamp, you could use another large design stamp instead. Using blue ink, stamp the dreidel on the vellum paper. Cover with blue embossing powder, shake off the excess and use the embossing heat tool to set the powder. Click here for more details in our embossing technique tutorial.

Step 2. Apply a thin coating of spray adhesive to the blue and white striped patterned paper (you can alternatively run this piece of paper through an adhesive machine like the Xyron machine). Glue the blue and white striped pattern paper to the front of the card, completely covering it.

Step 3. Punch 4 small holes one each corner of the vellum and the four corners of the front of the card -- punching them together so they align perfectly.

Step 4. Insert small blue brads through the four holes, open the brad prongs in the back of the card to attach the vellum piece to the card.
