We used a variety of paper crafting tools and techniques to make this elegant card, including vellum paper and ink embossing. Don't worry if you're new to any of the techniques, there are links to instructional tutorials in the Ralted Projects and Features sections below. When I designed this card, I didn't stop, I also came up with four other card designs that use the same rubber stamped image. Click here for details and directions for the other cards. |
| Supplies: |
a large card blank ( the cover of ours was 5 1/2
X 7) a piece of blue dot patterned scrapbooking paper the
same size as the cover of your card |
| Instructions: |
3. Use a dry embossing tool and a light box and template, or the Fiskar's Shape Boss tool to create a dry embossed border for your dreidel. Click for the dry or stylus embossing tutorial. 4. Carefully cut the vellum around the border embossing design. 5. Apply some adhesive (we used a glue stick) to the back of the vellum under the dreidel design. Do not put adhesive on other areas of the vellum or it will show through on the finished card. 6. Center the embossed vellum on the card front and stick down. |
